Smt. S. I. Patel Ipcowala College of Education is grant-in- Aid College of education founded in 1970 with the help of Late. Rajratn Sheth Shree Ramanlal Keshavlal Pariskh and with the permission of Sheth Shree amrutll Ramanlal Parikh.  In 1997, Ipcowala Bhavan was created with the help of Charotar Ratna Sheth Shree Indubhai Maganbhai Patel and due to sizeable donation the college name was given after Mrs. Shardaben Indubhai Patel Ipcowala college of Education.

From the inception the college had three-fold objective of pre-service training, in-service training of teachers and administrators of schools and doing research and documentation. And so our mission is to train well motivated teachers who are intellectually competent, morally upright, socially and professionally committed and spiritually inspired in order to become instruments of social transformation.

It admits 100 students every year for one year Bachelor of Education Programme. This is a co-educational institution with permanent recognition from the Government of Gujarat, National Council of Teacher Education and UGC registration under 2f and 12B. it is permanently affiliated to Gujarat University which is the biggest university in Gujarat. It is also a study centre for two year BAOU B.Ed programme with an intake of 100 students every year from various parts of Gujarat.
